A wealth of materials for teaching and learning chemistry! That’s what JCE offers you. Explore print issues or go to our Web site, JCE Online (http://www.jce.divched.org). Here are some JCE resources for celebrating National Chemistry Week (NCW)—or to use at other times as well. In addition to the NCW feature articles on pages 1310–1335, some other articles in this issue may be helpful for connecting with this year’s NCW. These include:

Chemistry for Everyone

Polymers in the Classroom

Dramatic Demonstrations

Engaging Laboratories

Teaching with Technology

Other Journal Features

JCE Classroom Activities. An ideal source for NCW ideas are JCE Classroom Activities. In addition to the one appearing in this issue, there are currently 97 other activities in this feature at JCE Online. For advice about using JCE Classroom Activities for outreach activities (for example, in a workshop with access to tables, sink, electricity or in a booth with no sink and a small space) see this Web page.

DigiDemos. You can find many more demonstrations to use during NCW through JCE DigiDemos at JCE Online, the Web-based version of Tested Demonstration).

NCW Resource Papers. Every October issue of JCE since 2000 has featured material for celebrating National Chemistry Week, including theme-based JCE Resource papers. It’s easy to access these past issues by browsing by year and month at JCE Online.

More Ideas: Key to Some Keywords. Because all articles from Volume 1 to the current issue are available in full-text PDF at JCE Online, you can find even more ideas for celebrating NCW by searching past issues of JCE by title, author, and keyword. Possible keyword terms include outreach (272 articles), demonstration (1244 articles), and public (516); possible title words to search include museum (16 articles), olympiad (5 articles), elementary (216 articles), and polymer (318 articles).

Chemistry Comes Alive! NCW is all about communicating chemistry. One of JCE’s best resources for doing that is the Chemistry Comes Alive! series, Vol. 1–8, which is now available on the Web through JCE Web Software. Chemistry comes to life through this collection of pictures, animations, and movies depicting chemical reactions and techniques. This resource includes hundreds of high quality QuickTime movies and thousands of still pictures.
